I’ve just returned to Australia from 2 years of teaching in China. Brought the wife back to start our new life together living out the good old Aussie dream. I am so happy to be home. It’s a lot harder for my wife who is coping with such a big change. It’s only been a few days and she’s still having periods where it’s tough for her. Luckily my parents and I want to work together to help her cook Chinese food and alleviate the problem of her finding our food too unpalatable. I’ve agreed to cook up her style of breakfasts seeing mine are so quick and easy.
We just bought our first car. Now we are looking for jobs - me in particular. I’m not exactly encouraged by all the doom and gloom news circulating about regarding the loss of jobs and state of the economy. I really need a job ASAP to pay off my student loans and save for a house deposit.
I basically need some encouragement. I am really hoping I won’t go months without a job!! I need to pick up full time work pretty quickly and I’m considering not being fussy at all. Though ideally I would like to find work in the technical type jobs that use analytical skills like science, Quality Assurance (QA), collecting samples for lab analysis, even applied for a job as a health inspector.
I need some confidence.
So I just tried to find a decent software for backtesting HF strategies and as well as
volatility arbitrage strategies…but didn’t find anything to catch my attention (basically
nothing about vol arb. and just 3 sites offering a demo of a HF software without mentioning
the price). So anyway I was thinking: why not create it myself and market it to banks, hedge
funds?? clearly there are many software apps for technical analysis, but very few for
quantitative and all the sophisticated optionionilized things. thnx.
I recently was honorably discharged out of the Navy and am looking to join the reserves. I worked as a CTM mainly on ships and on the ground in Iraq, Afghan and Africa. I am planning to attend college at James Madison University’s Intelligence Analysis program because I would really like to work as an analyst. That being said, I already have a bunch of cert’s (Fiber optics, security+, etc.) I am just not that into the technical stuff as much anymore and am much more interested in culture, history, etc. I am wondering if being an IS in the reserves would really give me some good job experience and training or the chance to possibly do FTS overseas in the future. I know being a CTN would give me a safe backup in that I could expand on my networking skills and they are willing to send me to school. Which job will help me become a better analyst?
Thanks for all the advice.
I am 17 and I need to spend money on my business so I can’t pay $60.00 per month for nice software. I don’t even want to use it to trade, I just want something functional and nice to keep track of my stocks. I downloaded QuoteTracker but it seems like the developers of this software were incompetent.
Could anyone offer some suggestions? I also need software compatible with TSX / TSX Venture Markets
