“BP’s CEO said Sunday he’s sorry for the largest oil spill in U.S. history and the “massive disruption” it has caused the Gulf Coast, telling reporters the company hopes to corral most of the crude offshore.”The first thing to say is I’m sorry,” Tony Hayward said when asked what he would tell people in Louisiana, where heavy oil has already reached parts of the state’s southeastern marshes.”We’re sorry for the massive disruption it’s caused their lives. There’s no one who wants this over more than I do. I would like my life back.”

Hayward said the company is doing “everything we can to contain the oil offshore,” but, “as far as I’m concerned, a cup of oil on the beach is a failure.”"

this is sure one mess. I was just wondering who people think is to blame for this.

Why dont they face up to the situation that their fishing and tourism business is kaput for a few months and instead of moaning and crying for the cameras, look for a regular job in another industry even if that requires a move. That is what most Americans have had to do in the recession. Adjust to the conditions. They are all waiting around for the government to give them charity.

from what i understand the emergency valves they use to seal off the oil work flawlessly, especially those in the gulf because the stations are prone to hurricane damage. i mean think about it, during the 08 pres campaign the big issue was energy, and the dems generally hate the idea of any kind of drilling. this administration has repeatedly called for oppurtunity amid disaster, and always calls them man-made as if hiding the truth in plain sight. so this crisis in the gulf occurs and as a result legislation will be presented against the ambitions of drilling and it will be justified in the view of the public.

ancillary: this happened off the coast of louisiana where bobby jindal is governing and is being groomed for a presidential future. parties be damned, we the people are being played for fools.
it has nothing to do with popularity but everything to do with control. if obama takes a personal hit in order to instill agenda… he wins either way and the powers that be are doing what they wish - manipulating our lives to a greater degree.
obama isn’t crying anything. this is favorable for him and his constituents. people need to stop getting their info from media because they are the biggest tools, tooling the biggest audience. fuck the green movement.
and not just that, but the platform just happened to blow up the day after earth day. politics is behind this.

Im moving to california and im starting fresh and a new life and i want to know how to make friends, its not like i dont know how, i do but just so it would be easier. im from california also so i know how awesome west coast people are. any advice?

I moved to the east coast from the west coast about 7 years ago..since then my whole family has fallen apart. my parents have separated. my siblings don’t fit in school. i don’t really care about fitting in…i don’t really give a fuck about anyone……i’m sad to see my family like this, and i can’t take it.. they seem hopeless and locked into the system.. i’ll let them deal with school and work, etc. but i’ve decided i have to get out. you can probably tell i’m not close to my family or anyone else since i’m writing this on yahoo answers. i just don’t understand why we had to leave a perfectly good life to come to the northeast. .everyone is so materialistic here..i can’t stand it anymore. anyway…is this what life is? i’m thinking of going back to the west..either oregon, montana, washington, northern california, idaho, colorado, nevada, or wyoming. i’m in school..i figure if i have enough money to get there i can find a place to work and a modest place to stay. i just feel bad abandoning my family. is there anyone out there who has this experience..care to give any adivice? any regrets. i just hate being bored with life and feel like i need to move. thanks

I mean before the fed reserve we Americans had precious metal backed notes of redemption. This act of a bill that could be exchanged for gold/silver combated both inflation & government growth. This single act increased the standard of living for Americans both financially & in maintaining individual liberties.
The big government argument today is that there would not be enough precious metal to back our paper currency, which has been proven untrue time & time again. With one troy ounce of .999 gold being currently worth about 1300 fed reserve notes one has gotta see the truth to the matter here. The mining operations & employment would boom coast to coast, the dollar would stabilize, government & the dreaded social programs would shrink down to skin & bones & individual liberties would be protected.
It seems to be that if one ‘reverse engineers’ the last century we end up where today’s problems stem from, 1913 & the Federal Reserve Act.
Previously the “First Bank & the Second Bank of the United States went down in flames due to both fraud & corruption. I believe the Fed reserve of today is using secrecy to hide it’s ‘bubble’ frauds that plagued both of the prior central banks.
In your opinion is the fed & it’s paper eggs a benefit to us or the end of us as a prosperous nation???
